Baby Bath Time: Our Guide to Eczema Care
Save and share this step-by-step baby bath guide for eczema. 🛁
Most baby sleep guides emphasize nightly baths as an important part of establishing a bedtime routine. But over-bathing our eczema babies is a detrimental mistake. We learned that the hard way! The skin barrier in babies with eczema is extremely fragile and has a hard time holding moisture.💧
That’s why it’s so important to:
🤍 Bathe less often 🛁
🤍 Do short, lukewarm baths
🤍 Use a gentle @environmentalworkinggroup certified soap like @pipettebaby. Don’t 🧼 the whole body, just the diaper area
🤍 Pat baby dry with a towel, don’t dry them entirely 🧖🏻♀️
🤍 Slather them with moisturizer as soon as possible. Try layering an oil first, lotion next, and emollient ointment last. We like @koru_naturals emu oil, @albabotanica emollient lotion and @cerave healing ointment for tough patches
🤍 Always do a patch test first when trying a new topical cream on baby 👶🏻
Follow along below for an easy visual guide for bath time success. Less flares and softer skin means happier babies and happier parents.
